In a tweet tagging the Education Minister and Ministry of Education the UGC has stated, “In view of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, admission course of in Central Universities throughout Academic Session 2021-22, might proceed as per previous observe. Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) could also be applied from Academic Session 2022-23.”
The Commission had launched new academic guidelines on July 16 and has requested universities to finish admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes by September 30. It has additionally requested the universities and colleges to finish closing semester or closing 12 months exams by August 30.
The CUCET was proposed within the national education policy (NEP) 2020. In December 2020, the Union ministry of training constituted a seven-member committee to recommend modalities for the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for admission to undergraduate programs throughout central universities in accordance with the NEP, 2020.
“The National Testing Agency (NTA) will work to supply a high-quality common aptitude test, in addition to specialised common topic exams within the sciences, humanities, languages, arts, and vocational topics, a minimum of twice yearly,” the NEP 2020 had envisaged.
