GGSIPU Marks Silver Jubilee with New Logo, Vision Document, and Global Collaborations

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) celebrated its silver jubilee on Thursday with a series of landmark announcements and initiatives. The university unveiled a new logo, released a commemorative silver jubilee postal stamp, and launched its strategic vision document, titled Vision at 2047.

During the event, GGSIPU announced a dual-degree Master of Science program in Digital Production for Sustainable Manufacturing in collaboration with AGH University of Krakow, Poland. Additionally, plans were revealed to establish an offshore campus in the Republic of Guinea. The ceremony was graced by Lt. Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, along with his Principal Secretary Ashish Kundra and Nandini Paliwal, Secretary for Higher Education.

In his address, Lt. Governor Saxena praised GGSIPU’s remarkable 25-year journey, calling it a beacon of hope for students and a hub for innovative academic initiatives. He commended the university’s efforts in building global partnerships and emphasized the importance of societal welfare and integrating the Indian Knowledge System. Drawing inspiration from Guru Gobind Singh’s teachings, Saxena encouraged students to uphold values of wisdom, courage, and justice.

Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Mahesh Verma highlighted the university’s exponential growth, noting its current offering of 190 academic programs across 40 disciplines, serving over 1.13 lakh students. He also shared recent initiatives, such as the introduction of a sports quota, single-girl child seats, the Vice-Chancellor Internship Program, and an incubation fund to foster innovation.

The celebration also included the inauguration of several infrastructure projects, such as an amphitheater with a 1,000-student capacity, a health center, and a guest house for visiting faculty. New facilities like an Industrial Robotics Lab, a state-of-the-art TV studio, a community radio station, and an extended Indian Bank counter at the East Campus were also launched, further enhancing the university’s infrastructure and academic offerings.
