GGSIPU Celebrates 25th Anniversary with New Initiatives and Global Expansion Plans

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) marked its 25th anniversary on Thursday with a series of significant announcements and milestones. The celebration included the unveiling of a new logo, the release of a commemorative silver jubilee postal stamp and coin, and the launch of the university’s strategic vision document, Vision@2047 Roadmap.

One of the key highlights was the announcement of a new dual-degree Master of Science program in Digital Production for Sustainable Manufacturing, offered in collaboration with AGH University of Krakow, Poland. This program enables students to study two semesters in India and two in Poland, paying only the Indian tuition fees, thus making international education more accessible.

Additionally, GGSIPU revealed plans to establish its first offshore campus in the Republic of Guinea, further expanding its global footprint.

The event was attended by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena, along with his Principal Secretary Ashish Kundra and Secretary for Higher Education Nandini Paliwal. In his address, Saxena lauded GGSIPU’s achievements over the past 25 years, recognizing it as a hub of innovation and a beacon of hope for students. He praised the university’s efforts in fostering global partnerships and stressed the importance of integrating societal welfare and the Indian Knowledge System into its educational framework.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma highlighted GGSIPU’s tremendous growth, noting its offering of 190 academic programs across 40 disciplines to over 1.13 lakh students. He also showcased the university’s initiatives, including the dual-degree program, a sports quota, single-girl child seats, a Vice-Chancellor Internship Program, and an incubation fund to promote innovation.

The occasion also featured the inauguration of multiple infrastructure projects, including an amphitheater with a 1,000-student capacity, a health center, a guest house for visiting faculty, and specialized facilities such as an Industrial Robotics Lab and a state-of-the-art TV studio. An extension counter of Indian Bank was also launched at the East Campus, further enhancing student and faculty convenience.

With these initiatives, GGSIPU continues to solidify its position as a leader in higher education, driving innovation, inclusivity, and global collaboration.
