India on Track to Lead Global Skilled Talent by 2030 with 7% Employability Surge

India has marked a significant milestone with a 7% rise in employability among its graduates, reaching 54.81% in 2024, according to the Wheebox India Skills Report 2025. This progress positions India as a growing hub for global skilled talent, set to play a pivotal role in meeting worldwide workforce demands by 2030.

Key factors driving this growth include government initiatives such as the Skill India Mission and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing vocational training and industry-relevant skills. Collaborative efforts with organizations like AICTE, CII, and AIU have further strengthened the skill pipeline. Sectors including technology, healthcare, and manufacturing are actively hiring fresh graduates, reflecting the effectiveness of these measures.

With 65% of its workforce under 35 years of age, India is uniquely poised to cater to global talent needs across regions such as the Gulf, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Industry-academia partnerships and a focus on digital and technical upskilling are further solidifying India’s role as a powerhouse for talent mobility.

This growth not only highlights India’s ability to adapt to global demands but also showcases its potential to lead the global labor market in the coming decade.
